Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Patel knew she wanted to be a dentist since she was a child. After going through numerous uncomfortable dental procedures growing up, she wanted to make the experience better for others. Her goal is to help her patients gain self-confidence thanks to their dental treatment, which is exactly what happened for her.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
After working as a part-time dental assistant throughout high school, Dr. Patel went on to graduate from the University of Massachusetts Amherst before obtaining her DMD from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. While in dental school, she was selected to be a Lead Teaching Assistant and helped develop the curriculum for sessions while also supervising over 70 students. Her academic work has also been featured in the publication Oral Health Practice Guidelines for Pregnancy and Early Childhood written by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
Dr. Patel has continued her training since finishing school and is able to provide both routine and specialty procedures, including root canal treatment, extractions, dental implant restoration, dentures, Invisalign, and more. She is also an active member of Spear Education.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
When she isn’t working, Dr. Patel likes to stay active by hiking, biking, skiing, and rock climbing. She is also an avid traveler both domestically and internationally.
